Potomac is an unincorporated area in Montgomery County, Maryland located approximate 15 miles North West of Washington DC. The town is named after its local river, the Potomac River. The area is known for its very affluent and highly-educated residents. CNNMoney.com placed Potomac 7th on its list top-earning American towns for 2008, one place ahead Potomac is also the 7th Top Educated Small Town in America according to Forbes.
